Johnny Cash - I Walk the Line
Time keeps on slipping. Where did it all go?
Our house is up for sale and I can't help but look around and see everything in a new light. Everything I own is like a photo album of my past. My friend Sam came over after having not been to my place in so long, and he noticed my anime DVD collection. "Hey look, it's Gasaraki." Yeah, I got that from him. When was that? Good God that was half a decade ago.
I see a lot of things that remind me of years gone by. I used to think I loved looking at such keepsakes, but lately I've realized it's starting to bother me and I'm not sure why. I certainly have a lot of regrets, but do I regret what's become of me? No no, I've made my decisions, and I'm proud of many and some in particular. However, I can't help but feel like my past selves are judging me, and it's driving me nuts. Hmm, maybe I do regret more than I should. And it hurts.
Are we such different people? Every couple years or so I feel like I've become a completely different person, yet everyone I know still feels like I'm just silly ol' Bryan Lee. Am I so different from what I once was? What will I be a few years from now? I hate trying to imagine such things because I'm never right. I guess I'll find out once I'm there. Hope I don't screw everything up. I'm still me, I hope. No use dwelling, I seriously need to learn to live in the moment and make the best of it.
Sorry, I long ago mentally swore against these silly emotional rants. I just haven't blogged in a while.
