43 days until Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
A ton of things have been happening in line lately. A couple days ago, the premiere for Sahara was held at the Grauman's Chinese Theater, so the place was crowded with screaming Matthew McConaughey fans holding up signs they spent all day making just so that he just might glance at it (and they think we're nerds). However, this wasn't exactly your typical Hollywood premiere. They brought a camel onto the red carpet. That's Penelope Cruz in the blue dress.
Yesterday, I spent a couple hours operating the line phone (the number spreads fast; as soon as we hang up, 10 seconds later there's another call) and I did a whole bunch of live radio interviews from across the nation, including Star 98.7. We've also got a Getty Images photographer taking pictures of us every day, and VH1's Best Week Ever is interviewing us on Saturday. The publicity is starting to get enormous.
Well, my place in line has dwindled as I have to leave to go to school, and we have some pretty devoted people here who don't really have to be anywhere. Currently in third, but I'll probably fall back to fourth soon.
I'm starting to fear going to sleep, because Art and Grimlock like to take photos. Like so.
46 days until Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
I am now officially in line for Episode III!
Line-up officially began at 1 PM yesterday, and when you factor in Daylight Savings Time, I've now been in line a little over 24 hours (longer than I was in line for the Star Wars DVD's), tied for first with a handful of other devotees. The line-up this time is pretty huge; even the couple hour "pre-line" to make sure no one's ahead of us was like, a dozen people. Yesterday we had 70 people signed in, and the total of registered members rises towards 300 faster and faster (we're even recruiting pedestrians who want to join our cause). So I've spent one night in line. Surprisingly it's pretty comfortable sleeping in a sleeping bag in two fold-out cloth chairs, it just gets really cold in the mornings.
